The King's Meeting Royalty among themselves when "the king of beers" meets the "king of valve technology". This is what happened in Duisburg-Beeck. The König-Brauerei has been brewing its beers there since 1858, and König Pilsener since 1911. In 2017, König-Brauerei invited tenders for the construction of a new pressure tank cellar. With the specification of "maximum flexibility", the traditional brewery turned to the best plant engineers in the country. "The primary goal of the modernisation was to centralise the pressure tank cellar and increase flexibility. This objective was achieved by means of fully automated valve manifolds. Such a network of KIESELMANN double-seat valves controls several processes simultaneously. While one tank is being filled, a second line of the node can be used for cleaning and beer can be pumped to the filler via a third pipe," says Dirk Vogler. "This project was our most elaborate and complex construction site in the last ten years. The technology and the connection of the interfaces are an excellent solution," says Dr. Robert Englisch, head of technical services at König-Brauerei. Dirk Vogler can also confirm the complexity, looking back he sums up: "This was a big job with an excellent supervisor and an excellent cooperation with the customer. A kingly project."
